2017 Bond Issue Information

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, qualified voters in the Great Neck Public School District will be asked to authorize a bond issue. This page aggregates information, timelines, presentations, and the latest district newsletter to help inform the community about these projects. 2017 Bond Issue Public Meetings, Press Releases, and Presentations

The Board of Education held public hearings on the 2017 Bond Issue beginning in October, 2016, and public hearings will continue through February, 2017. There will be discussion about the projects and an opportunity for the community to pose questions or concerns. The first hearing was held at the Board's Public Action Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 John. F. Kennedy School. The second hearing was held at the Board's Public Action Meeting on Monday, Nov. 14, at 8:30 p.m., at E.M. Baker School. The third hearing was held at the Board's Public Action Meeting on Monday, Dec. 12, at 8:30 p.m., at Saddle Rock Schoool. Additional community meetings will be held in January and February, 2017. 2017 Bond Issue Projects

The 2017 Bond Issue will cover renovations, repairs, and improvements to the district's aging buildings and grounds. Specific projects are included in the above presentations.

Voting on 2017 Bond Issue

Voting on the 2017 Bond Issue is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. There are two voting locations: E.M. Baker School (69 Baker Hill Rd.) for residents living north of the LIRR, and South High School (341 Lakeville Rd.), for residents living south of the LIRR.

Registration for 2017 Bond Issue

The deadline to register to vote is Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017. For registration information, please phone the District Clerk at (516) 441-4020.

Applications for Absentee Ballots

Qualified registered voters can obtain Applications for Absentee Ballots online or from the District Clerk, Phipps Admin. Bldg., 345 Lakeville Rd., school days, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (516-441-4020). Residents whose registration records are marked "permanently disabled" automatically receive absentee ballots. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14.
