Board of Education To Add Building Advisory Committee

Now that the dust is beginning to settle following the voting on May 16, the Board of Education is already planning for next year. This past fall, the Board formed two new committees: Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and Financial Advisory Committee (FAC). New for the 2017-18 school year, the Board will be adding an ad hoc committee, the Building Advisory Committee (BAC).

Committee Composition - The composition for all three committees will be as it was last year, that is, by lottery, with representation from the following groups: high school students, community members without children currently attending grades K-12, parents of students currently attending grades K-12, and present staff members. Each committee is comprised of up to 12 members, in addition to Board Members and administration. Beginning in 2017-18, a member-at-large position will be added for each committee. Members are selected to serve a one-year term.

Application Deadline - Applications must be received no later than Monday, June 12, 2017.
