Two Lakeville students in Ms. Gindi's Grade 5 class demonstrate a math problem solution simultaneously using the classroom's new SMART Interactive Flat Panel Display. Fifty-seven of these multi-touch displays were purchased from Smart Schools Bond Act funds and installed in various classrooms throughout the district for the 2016-17 school year to begin replacing first-generation SMART Boards and projectors. These upgradable displays are significantly brighter with 4K Ultra High Definition resolution, offer true color reproduction, replace external speakers with built-in stereo sound, and have object awareness to differentiate between the SMART pen, a finger to move objects, and a fist to erase SMART ink, without casting shadows, requiring calibration, or needing bulb replacement.
