The Middle School Computer Curriculum Framework reflects the philosophy of middle school education to provide students with active, hands-on learning experiences that are integrated with the curriculum. It recognizes that computer technology can have a powerful impact on instruction and learning particularly at this age level. Rather than offer separate course requirements that isolate learning and target the computer as an object of instruction, department-driven, curriculum-based activities are introduced on a systematic basis within each discipline. An emphasis is placed on using tool applications and simulations in order to accomplish curricular tasks related to our four major goals: |
|
Students will use technology to communicate and present information. |
Students will use technology to access and interpret information. |
Students will use technology to create original designs and compositions. |
Students will use technology to enhance understanding and solve problems. |
